Program an a-MAZE-ing Robot

Registration is open for a waitlist!

AGE GROUPS: 8-10, 11-13, 14-17, 18-29
DURATION: 4 weekends
LIVE CLASS: 8 hours total

Code a maze-solving robot.

The Explorers will use MIT’s Scratch 3.0 programming language in order to program a robot that can solve a maze autonomously. Equipped with the fundamentals of programming and algorithms, along with proper testing principles, they will compete to see who can create the fastest maze-solving robot*.

This project teaches the basic principles of algorithmic thinking and introduces programming through a tangible example that is intuitively approachable even to the youngest learners. Coding through code-block allows learners to focus on the programming logic rather than getting tangled up with the details of programming language syntax, all while learning the logic behind things and how smaller pieces combine to create a complex system.

*The class will use MakerBlock’s mBot educational robot but the purchase of the robot ($80) is not required for participation.

Description

I was expecting just a classic learn via presentation course, which we were willing to try out due to high review scores and low time involvovement. It turns out that working in teams with other cool kids, get the awesome badges really pumped up my kid and he wants more

I know my son’s talented, but I still can’t believe a group of 10-year-olds managed to make an online robot! Awestruck
